Schedule of Classes:
Theory classes are 9am - 2pm, two days per week for 10 hours a
week. Clinical rotations are two days a week for 16 hours.
Clinical rotations are Monday through Saturday.
Licensed Vocational Nursing
The Licensed Vocational Nursing program provides students with
the theory, laboratory, and clinical experiences that will serve
as preparation for an entry-level position in Licensed
Vocational Nursing. Upon successful completion of this program,
the student will be able to:

- Demonstrate competence in
direct patient-care activities in hospital and in
community-based healthcare agencies.
Demonstrate ethical and caring behaviors
while providing nursing care.
Take the NCLEX-PN examination in this
state; and
Secure employment as a Licensed
Vocational Nurse upon obtaining their license. Nursing theory
guides clinical practice.
The clinical portion of the program provides student with
actual hands-on experience providing nursing care to patients of
all ages, ethnic and cultural groups, and stages of
wellness/illness in hospitals and other health care agencies
affiliated with The College. In addition, the clinical
atmosphere will enable the student to experience first-hand the
behaviors that are crucial to employability in those agencies.

Program Description:
This 30.37 Semester Credit Hour (480 clock hour) Allied Health
program require 30 weeks of training. The required of hours of
training includes those specified by the California Department
of Health Service/Nurse Assistant Section. This program exceeds
the minimum requirements to prepare a student for a wider scope
of medical situation, which may arise in the health industry.
There are no prerequisites for this program.
Program Objectives:
This program is designed to provide a student with extensive
instruction in Allied Home Health Aid, career development as
well as preparing the student for Nurse Assistant Certification
testing by the American Red Cross.
Occupational Objectives:
Graduates will be qualified for entry-level positions in the
Allied Health Industry, with Hospital, Clinics, Doctors, and
specifically to care for patients confined nursing facilities or
the patient's home. Upon course completion the student will be
referred to the American Red Cross for Certification testing.
