According to the Scope for Cosmetologist, Esthetician and Manicurist Examination, the Board of Barbering And Cosmetology requires the exam consist of two parts a writing part (100 points) and practical part (300 points).

To pass the Examination, applicant must achieve all of the following:

1. A total score at least 300 points (75 % out of  total 400 points)

2. A score of at least 225 on the practical part

3. A score of at least 70 on the writing part

Student before graduate shall pass school examine with a minimum total  passing score is 85% of technical instruction and practical operation.

To prepare for graduate student capable to pass state board examination, NCV College will base on the passing score of state board exam to conduct the “ State Board Pre – examination “ and student must completed total clock hours before take pre-exam test. Score of the exam as the following:

Total pre-exam test for Cosmetology, Esthetician, Manicuring is 400 points including : a practical portion (300 points) and writing portion (100 points).

Minimum passing score is 85% (340 points) out of  400 points

1. Practical part is 255 points

2. Writing part is 85 points

(To quality for actual state board examine student shall pass 330 points, including a score of minimum 250 points in the practical part and 80 points in the writing part)
